Voir la version complète : Crazy DC bug when your opponent is lagging...

This has happened 3 times now when I've played with someone who was having a bad connection overall.

When I goto hit my 2nd or 3rd shot (in every instance it happened while putting) it says I've hit an unplayable area and I get +1 stroke from what I normally would get. Then on the next hole after I tee off the entire game just closes without warning. Then upon starting the game updater it sends an error log.

It doesn't count it as a quit, but I also gain nothing (it's as if the game never took place).

It seems to happen due to some type of de-synch issue (I shoot my 2nd shot before he "sees" me shoot my first one).

This is a pretty big problem because it's 100% dependant on your opponent. If your connection is crystal clear this still occurs if your opponent has a poor connection.

This bug has never happened until I played someone who I knew was having trouble with his connection.

Also on a related note I've had 2 random DCs that did count as quits but I never purposely quit. The game just stops responding entirely but my internet is still working (all of my internet services stayed online). I've never had this happen on A18 (I have a 0.2% quit rate after thousands of games).

Nope, it was with mygo. His new connection is slacking.

Yeah I'm 99% sure it happens because you've taken your shot before my game has registered my turn properly. That last one on hole 4 Pink Wind. My turn still hadn't finished then you did your turn and I saw the albatross bonus pop up but it gave that bonus to me. I didn't even get to see the putt you did. It just said Albatross while my Arin was still dancing from her Albatross.

Major desynchs seem to cause some bugs. I don't think anything can be done about it though...

I got major packet loss which I need to fix somehow.

Just to follow up on this subject, mygo reported that on the KR server when he got a lot of lag it actually booted him instead of his opponent so I'm guessing this is something that can be fixed on GOA.

It might even be exploitable in this bug's current state. Someone could make themselves lag and purposely boot out their opponent so they win XP or make them lose a potential record chance.
