This is similar to the riddle thread, but these questions make you think outside of the box. EVERY SINGLE word within the question has a clue to the best answer.
Ok Question 1
A man walks into a bar and asks the bartender for a glass of water. The bartender takes out a gun from under the table and shoots the ceiling. The man thanks him and walks out. Why did he thank him?
Please dont answer with silly answers like there was a dragon on the roof, the hint is the fact that he asks for a glass of water.
Could it be because it was raining outside. So the bartender thought that it would be easier to shoot at the ceiling :)

Haha, Nt but... nope =P
If that was the case, he would have to shoot through the ceiling, and the roof or if the bar was elevated or the ground floor of a building, he would have to shoot lotsa ceilings to get the rain in.
And wouldnt the roof be dirty? and the water would be dirty?
Think outside the square :)
Why did he thank him?
Cuz the rule says: "Never piss off a redneck who just shot a f###ing bullet into the ceiling"
Oh, come on, this is easy. He had the hiccups, and wanted a glass of water. The bartender thought it would be better to scare him, and lo and behold, it worked. The hiccups were gone, and for this he thanked the bartender and went on his way.

Nice Jacava, you answer the questions quick and accurately! Very Good!:)

I think I mentioned in your thread, I like these puzzles. Keeps my mind working when I'm not doing Quantum Mechanics (yes, it's difficult and epic enough to warrant having capital letters).
A man lies dead on the floor surrounded by 53 pieces of paper, all of which have something different written on them. What happened?

Let me guess! There is 52 different cards in the cards game! And since there is 53, i suggest that he was cheating and was caught with 53 cards. Then he was shot dead.:)

Nicely done. I should add that he was playing poker for money, as then there's actually a decent reason to kill, but hey, they could have been playing snap for all I care. He cheated and that's that. :p

How could that be true?

You said that they all had something differently written on them. but because there is 53 cards, that would mean that he had a copy of one card =P

Maybe the card's back is different or something like that as the other players had discovered that the latter was cheating.:p But you have a point. Let Jacava clear this.
Cheers.:)

Yeah, why not. I guess I should have said "only two pieces were identical", but the back being different works as well.

Well, he isnt too smart then =P
Anyway... (classic one, my teacher told me a variation of this in grade 5)
A landlord is threatening to evict a father and his beautiful young daughter, unless she agrees to marry him. In a false gesture of sincerity, he offers her an opportunity for her and her father to remain in the house, without marrying him. He has a silk bag in which he says he has placed a white and a black stone from the footpath on which they're standing. If she picks the white stone from the bag, without looking, she wins; if she picks the black, she loses. However, the young girl saw him place two black stones in the bag. She can't expose him in front of the witnesses without angering him and making things worse. How does the clever girl win?
...Takes one out and hides it, then says "What colour's the one left in the bag?"
I think.

Yes, that's a good one. Or she takes one out and then throw it to the ground or far away. Then there is the black left in the bag, and the witnesses will think that she had the white.:)
Get out of the circle, huh?
Draw a circle on a piece of paper, put your finger inside the circle and try to find a way to get out of it. You can't unstick your finger from the paper.
Good luck. :)
The only way I can think of is fold the paper over underneath your finger (so it doesn't actually come off the paper), then unfold it the other way so your finger is now outside the circle. I can't really explain it well without doing it, but folding the paper is the only answer I can come up with.

The backpack is an unopened parachute, and he fell to his death.
